CLARITY
Game Manager built for Omarchy

Steam, GOG, Epic, itch, PICO-8, emulators, fan games, source ports and mods. One library. In the bar, one shortcut away. Built for Omarchy.

Road Rash cover art
New recipe

Road Rash broke four times in a row, and each one hid the next

A missing file, a screen that would not go to 640x480, no CD-ROM drive, and a note the installer never wrote. Install it from your own disc and all four are dealt with when you press play.

DOOM CE cover art
New mod

PSX Doom, the way it looked on the console

The coloured lighting, the darker palette and Aubrey Hodges’ soundtrack, rebuilt on modern GZDoom. Needs doom2.wad, which your library already links, and UZDoom 5.

Clarity’s CRT face on a Philips CRT television
New face

Clarity now runs on a television older than most of my games

Couch Mode is built around cover art, and a tube TV has nowhere to put any. So there is another face: a menu you drive with a D-pad, that installs, scrapes and plays without you leaving the sofa.

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition cover art
New recipe

The Witcher did nothing at all when I pressed play

No window, no error, not even a log. GOG’s installer writes down where it put the game, and on Linux that step never happens, so the game decided it was not installed. Clarity writes it now.

DOOM + DOOM II cover art
New feature

Doom mods, with the soundtrack you already own

Brutal Doom on IDKFA, chosen when you press play. Nothing is downloaded: the music comes out of the DOOM + DOOM II re-release on your own disk, matched by what the songs are rather than what they are called.

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura cover art
New recipe

Arcanum would not open at all, and the thing meant to fix it was why

GOG includes a helper file that keeps the game running on Windows. On Linux it is what stopped Arcanum from opening at all. Clarity now leaves it out for this one game, and it starts.

Fallout: London cover art
New recipe

GOG’s Fallout: London 1-click install crash at launch has been fixed!

It installed perfectly and then played its music over a black screen. GOG’s installer has finishing steps, and nothing on Linux performed them. Now done at launch, repairing the install you already have.

One app, three faces

The Manager: the desktop app. Import, organise, scrape, install, launch. Couch Mode: fullscreen and gamepad-first, for the television. The CRT face: a menu for an actual tube TV, driven with a D-pad. Installer: pulls your GOG and Epic games down, no store client.

One AppImage. Library, artwork and settings sit in a folder next to it. Backed up by copying, gone when you delete it.

What it looks like

Shot on Omarchy. No mockups.

The launcher overlay open over the desktop, one keyboard shortcut away. The library grid: every game you own, with a button under each one. A game page: key art, screenshots, description, and one play button. The source ports catalogue, grouped by the game it needs. The theme picker, with Your Desktop at the top holding your Omarchy colours. Achievements, read straight from the game. The manuals a GOG game shipped with, ready to read or download. The Couch home screen: your numbers, today's pick, and what you just imported. Another one, because DOOM deserves the whole screen. Browsing by store, in a card flow you steer with a stick.
01 · the launcher, one shortcut from anywhere 02 · the library on the desktop 03 · a game page, everything in one place 04 · source ports and fan games, from your own file 05 · the theme picker, wearing your desktop’s colours 06 · achievements from two stores in one list 07 · your GOG game's manuals 08 · Couch Mode’s home screen 09 · a game page for a television 10 · browsing covers in Couch Mode

⚠ Experimental, and honest about it

The download is always the current build. I use it daily, and it still has rough edges. 2.0 is coming soon.
